The Silent Prayer

She was thinking to herself, “If I can just put a finger on his robe, I’ll get well.”Matthew 9:21 (MSG)

Beloved, immediately after the earth was created, God gave the authority to rule in the earth to mankind, to Father Adam and his wife, Mother Eve.However, immediately after forty days in the wilderness where he was led by the spirit to be tempted by the devil, Jesus was led by the devil up to a high place and shown in an instant all the kingdoms of the world saying “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.”

It is conclusive therefore that the transfer of the authority to rule in the earth from man to Satan happened when Adam and Eve sinned. Satan’s authority to rule in the earth was therefore not given to him by the creator of the earth. He stole it from man in the beginning for like a thief, he comes into the sheepfold by the back door. He laid hold on it by deceiving man because he is the father of lies.

Beloved, even though Jesus, remarked at one point in His ministry that “All authority and power of absolute rule, both in heaven and on earth has been given to me”, God in His wisdom, continuous to observe a policy of non –intervention in the affairs of men on the earth. Secondly, as with our first parents, Adam and Eve, God gives freedom to His creatures, and then let’s them live within the limits and consequences of their freedom. God will only intervene when invited by the humble through prayer.

This heavenly policy is so because until Christ’s second coming, the kingdoms of this World remains temporarily in the hands of Satan and the forces of this dark age. Secondly, it is also because the believer is God’s fellow worker, working together with God in bringing His purposes to pass on earth as it is in heaven. You must therefore not cease to humbly invite God into every circumstance of your live.

Beloved, there are situations when you can freely pray out loud. Yet, even in situations when it would not be wise to do so, you have no excuse for not calling on the name of the Lord for salvation, healing and deliverance. You can say a silent prayer within your heart or even undertone to your own hearing. God is not interested in well-expressed prayers. He says just “call on me.”

Therefore you stand to be charged with spiritual pride by the supreme court of Heaven anytime you do not pray. You also risk facing the devil and his militia in your limited strength when you don’t pray.

Beloved, in our meditation scripture, we read that the woman with the issue of blood, “was thinking to herself”. The King James Version says “For she said within herself”. The Amplified says “she had been saying to herself”. This woman activated her faith in Jesus by a silent prayer to God and as a result received divine healing in an instant.

I declare I will live a life of prayer and my life will be a continuous prayer to God.
